Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Client: Indiana State Police
Architect: Ratio Architects, Indianapolis, Indiana
Completion: 2021
In 2018, we were contracted to design MEP systems for a “prototype” lab and regional police post that would be implemented at 3 existing State Police Regional Posts located in Fort Wayne, Lowell, and Evansville. The first project was completed in Fort Wayne and replaced its 40-year-old facility. This site became the prototype design for two other regional locations. The building has 35,000 gross square feet to support both the Indiana State Police Regional Forensics Labs and Indiana State Police Regional District Station functions. The forensics portion includes labs and administrative spaces. The Police District Station includes administrative areas, investigations, a Trooper area, a dispatch center, and police staff support areas. Additionally, there are shared functions such as public access, staff areas, a training room and other building support areas. These facilities process 90% of analytical services and 60% of crime scene investigation services in support of county and municipal police agency investigations.
